Meet Our Team

Joel Furrow serves as Deputy Director of the Christian Civic League of Maine, bringing more than two decades of ministry, nonprofit leadership, and cross-cultural experience to the work of strengthening the Church and advancing the Kingdom of God.

A graduate of Liberty University with a degree in Religion and a focus in Intercultural Studies, Joel spent 14 years at The Root Cellar, leading its work in Lewiston for eight years and serving his final six years as Executive Director, working alongside churches and neighbors to strengthen communities, develop leaders, and share the hope of Jesus.

Though originally from away, Maine has become home—Joel and his wife, Hilary, have lived in Wales for the past 14 years, where they are raising three daughters and a son and share a deep desire to see spiritual restoration across Maine through faithful disciples of Jesus carrying the truth, love, and hope of Christ into their families, churches, communities, and the public square.
