Readers comment on reeducation by homosexuals
On July 30, we asked our readers…Equality Maine is now focusing its advocacy on rural Maine, where voters largely voted against same-sex marriage, in an effort to educate blue collar Mainers about homosexual and transgender issues. How should Bible believing Christians respond?
Here are some of their comments:
The same thing we do on any issue of sin. We stand united and point out sin for what it is. Whether it is homosexuality, lying, stealing, adultery, etc. Those who continue in the sin are sinners and in need of Christ but their sin is not to be acceptable. This is where the sheep are separated from the goats. Choose this day whom you will serve.
Jesus told us to love one another and to love our enemy. But He did not teach us to love sin and homosexuality is a sinful act. So we are told to love the sinner but hate the sin. Regarding marriage, the Bible says that marriage is between one man and one woman. Equality Maine needs to be educated about Godly matters. They need our prayers. Amen
God’s Word will not return void. We need to continue to speak the truth in love. Our churches need to speak about these issues and need not be intimidated about speaking about social issues, which, in fact, are biblical issues first. Why can’t Christians focus on rural Maine as well? How is Equality Maine doing it? Why can’t we?
I don’t want to be educated about homosexual and transgender issues. I’m not homophobic; I just don’t believe there is any such thing as a homosexual. They are just sinners who have gone off the deep end! I’ll not be swayed in my beliefs no matter what they say. The Bible is clear on this issue.
Bible believing Christians have an obligation to respectively let their position be known. I often think of the Thomas Payne quote, “A long habit of thinking a thing wrong gives it the superficial appearance of being right and raises at first a formidable outcry in defense of custom.”
Take a look at what they are doing and follow or lead the way in educating or informing the public with information counter acting what they are doing. We have to know what they are saying and go armed with the information of being right! Whatever it takes. Forming groups that will be designated areas small enough to take care- a strict agenda
I believe we should be educating them as to God’s word about the way God feels about the sin and the sinner.
We need to have a game plan of our own to fight back and educate everyone with the truth and do whatever we can to overturn same-sex marriage laws in states that have legalized it.
Stand firm and always include supporters of same sex marriage in your prayers. When confronted with same sex supporters inform them of Romans 1:24-34, especially friends and family who have gone astray.
Pray! Every church should be devoting a portion of every service to prayer for this issue & our state & country. Also, highlighting the effect on individual freedoms of speech, conscience, etc. objectively, factually without malice, with sincere concern pointing to the restrictions on business, churches, school curriculum!!!
I pray for them to speak the truth in love and see some of these young ones converted.
I would love to see something like the Vitae Foundation (which produces pro-life commercials to educate people about life issues in a non-confrontational but highly effective way) formed to educate the public about natural marriage. Of course we should also address the issue in personal, one-on-one conversations when the opportunity arises.
Continue to stand firm on God’s word. We need to make sure we as church leaders are educating our flocks on what the bible says about these things and continue to collectively pray.
There is nothing to think. They have a right to do it. It is a war; a battle and our only hope is that people who value their religious freedom are having conversations… educated conversations of their own and lots of them.
The fact of the matter is that special interest groups are all on the same page, fighting for the same reason and fight to win. Think of what could happen if all the Churches could put aside their pride, band as one and got out into the streets and fought to win!
That’s it. first believe the Bible and that it wasn’t written by men. but by the Holy Spirit. From our Father in Heaven. We as believers must do our best to follow the word of God written in the scriptures.
Mainers, and all religious people, should define the term “Marriage Equality” to mean, rightfully, that marriage should be between adult men and women (children must not be able to marry), that the marriage is entered into voluntarily (slavery is immoral), and that laws not disadvantage married couples. The asymmetry of the sexes is vital.
Marriage is a union between a man and a woman. A union of any other two beings is not called marriage but a farce. What will that other union produce? And by the way, marriage is not a right.
