Faith Matters in Maine UPDATE – October 31, 2012: “Religious Freedom and Civic Participation”
Anyone familiar with human history is aware the religious freedoms we have experienced in the United States are the exception not the rule. Even in the present, countless people today live under oppressive regimes and face true persecuting because of their faith.
One must therefore, come to the conclusion the liberties we so freely enjoy are a blessing from our Heavenly Father – not a right which we can demand. If religious freedom is indeed a blessing, how can we best express our gratitude? I propose by exercising and defending our religious liberties.
Exercise by expression, like voting on Biblical principles. Defend your freedom by supporting candidates who defend Biblical Values. Show your appreciation for God’s blessings – participate in the process of governing.
