Faith Matters in Maine UPDATE – November 8, 2012: “Disappointed but not Defeated”

November 8, 2012 No Comments by admin

Citizens of Maine have just voted to legalize “same sex marriage”—so what does that mean for those of us who are not willing to embrace marriage as a genderless institution?  It means there is much work to be done.  Though we sorely disappointed in the voters’ decision, we are not discouraged.  Frankly, we cannot remain defeated while our time and resources must be mobilized in readiness to defend individuals, businesses, parents, schools, and churches for the coming threat of legal action based on this new conflict regarding discrimination.  The Christian Civic League is poised to stand with Christians who are willing to gracefully oppose this attempt to disregard free speech and religious liberties of the citizens of Maine.
