Carroll Conley had the privilege to hear a briefing today from Paul Clement, the attorney who argued against Obamacare before the Supreme Court.  Carroll is attending the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) annual conference in Florida for allied attorney’s and Family Policy Council directors. Below is the official response from Carroll and from Steve Aden of the ADF to the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) decision on Obamacare.

“We are very disappointed the Supreme Court did not strike down Obamacare in its entirety. The Justices have thrown the seminal issue of religious liberty back to the citizens of the United States. In light of the Supreme Court’s decision and the attempt to redefine marriage, Mainers must view November’s election as one of the most critical of our lifetime, especially as it relates to our precious religious freedoms, “  Carroll Conley, Jr., Executive Director,
Christian Civic League of Maine

“ObamaCare treats American citizens like subjects. This administration has used health care law to become a dictator of conscience. The court’s decision is alarming and deeply wrong. ObamaCare holds your health care hostage and offers no real choice. Either comply and abandon your religious freedom and
conscience, or resist and be fined for your faith. All current ADF legal challenges to the Obama administration’s abortion pill mandate will proceed,
and we are confident that the Supreme Court will strike it down as unconstitutional.” Steven H. Aden, Alliance Defense Fund Senior Counsel
