Senator Woodcock Attends Pro-Choice, Pro-Homosexual GOP Rally
 |
| Sen. Woodcock, Sen. Mills, and Gov. Whitman |
Former Governor of New Jersey Christie Todd Whitman was joined by State Senator and current Maine Republican gubernatorial candidate Chandler Woodcock in Augusta Saturday afternoon at a sparsely attended pro-abortion, pro-homosexual Maine Republican Party rally held at the Maine Forest Products Council headquarters. The rally was to promote Governor Whitman's new Republican pro-abortion It's My Party, Too national organization which focuses on economic and personal "freedom of choice." Maine Republican State Chairman Mark Ellis and Maine Republican Executive Director Julie O'Brien both were in attendance. Other Republican elected officials and candidates at the pro-abortion Republican rally included Senator Karl Turner of Cumberland County, Senator Peter Mills of Franklin County, and Rep. Christopher Rector of Thomaston. Republican Legislative candidates in attendance were Rachel Ellis of Augusta, Abigail Holman of Fayette, Jeffrey Gifford of Lincoln, and John Babine of Lewiston...READ

He didn't "Just go to Cuba"
A little less than one year ago Governor John Baldacci led a trade delegation to Cuba to talk about selling apples and milk to the communist dictator. The Governor's visit is making news again because of Fidel Castro's ties to the virulently anti-American dictator in Venezuela, Hugo Chavez. Baldacci cut a deal with Chavez at the same time he was visiting with Castro...READ

Christian Civic League of Maine Launches 2006 Voter Guide
 |
| The Christian Civic League of Maine |
Last year, the Christian Civic League of Maine rallied tens of thousands of people to support the Coalition for Marriage. We promised we would remember who voted to protect traditional marriage and who favored extending homosexual rights on Election Day. Today, we are keeping that promise. Our 2006 online interactive pro-family Voter Guide is now available at the League's website. This Voter Guide will help us to hold accountable those state legislators who voted to undermine traditional marriage and the family. Simply enter your zip code and your legislators' names and grades will be displayed...READ

Michael Beardsley Announces U.S. Senate Candidacy
 |
| Michael A. Beardsley of Ellsworth |
Fellow Christians and Conservatives: Yesterday, I filed paperwork with the Secretary of State's Office to become an official Write-In Candidate for the United States Senate on November 7, 2006. Many of you may be asking why a write-in campaign now? Simply put, I cannot in good conscience vote for any of the candidates in this year's race as none are Pro-Life, nor Conservative. None represent traditional values. If you feel the way I do, I'm asking for your support. Write in "Beardsley, Michael A., Ellsworth" and fill in the arrow or oval on Election Day. This write-in campaign is to give Maine's conservative and Christian voters of conscience a real choice on November 7th. It is a campaign for all who realize, like I have, that a vote for the 'lesser or three evils' is still a vote for evil. But I feel not voting is simply unpatriotic and dishonors the memories of those who shed blood to preserve our constitutional right to vote. There are many good candidates running for offices like Governor, State Senate, and State Representative, and numerous local offices. I hope my candidacy will encourage Christians and conservatives to come out and vote and not sit on the sidelines...READ

The Economy Matters Most in Woodcock Press Release
 |
| Senator Chandler Woodcock in Vietnam |
Senator Chandler Woodcock's campaign issued a press release today trumpeting a Rasmussen Poll. The poll shows the Republican gubernatorial challenger just one point behind the incumbent Democrat John Baldacci. The two men face one another on the November 7 ballot.
While Woodcock loudly proclaimed his support for traditional marriage and human life in the Republican primary today's press release did not mention those issues, or the fact that he is a lay Baptist preacher.
Woodcock's only official interaction with the Christian Civic League of Maine was a spring 2006 off-the-record meeting with League director Michael Heath.
