Barna polls report that we are a nation and state with the majority being Christian. Well, are we a Christian nation with a majority of Christians living in her borders? Where shall we find the evidence of the Christian belief? Suppose we consult the Book our society (Christian and non-Christian) fears the most, “The Word or God,” a higher authority. You can’t be Christian (a Christ follower) without knowing the Christ of the Bible. Take away the Bible and you no longer have Christ followers.
The Bible IS the source of authority our Founding Fathers called upon to form our government. It doesn’t matter if an individual is Christian or not. The Bible has a great understanding of law and legal systems to govern a people and a society. I will use three points that will actually reveal evidence of the lack of Christian influence in our state and nation. This is for real Christians only.
1. Christians should desire a balanced legal system where laws are made to protect people who are civil toward a good government. If the government opposes the “Higher Authority,” Christians should oppose the law though the voting system and other political means - sometimes civil disobedience, if the legislation is against the Higher Authority of Scripture.
2. Christians should without a doubt desire one man and one woman in marriage. Homosexual marriage does not have a logical argument. It is an act of sodomy. Sodomy is a violation of the law of the Higher Authority from the Bible
3. Christians should without a doubt desire that all babies be born alive. Abortion is murder, which a violation of the law of the Higher Authority from the Bible.
So: If our nation and state were Christian, then we would be very active in any legal/political decision that opposes the Higher Authority from the Bible.
How? 1. By voting people into office who want good laws, which 2. Protect marriage between man and woman and 3. Protects the life of every unborn baby.
If we were really a Christian society, there would be no pro-homosexual and no pro-abortion officials elected into public office.
The problem with this nation is not non- Christians but religious people who haven’t surrendered to the righteousness of Christ according to the Bible.
I wonder if what we call Christianity today has become an embarrassment to Christ and His bride the Church.
If Christians were to live according to our Higher Calling by the authority from the Bible, the answer would be: No.
If Christians live according to the law, the whims of the flesh, personal opinion, or by a “make-everyone-feel-fuzzy good god, the answer is: Yes.
We have become a nation and state with perverted and corrupted laws. Are Christians today an embarrassment to Christ and His Bride the Church?
