World Renowned Religious Resource Facility Open To the Public 24/7 thru the Internet

The American Bible Society is proud to announce that the Bible Resource Center (BRC), previously only available to scholars, has been digitized and made available to the world through a searchable online database enhanced by Google.

The BRC search engine includes extensive Bible study guides, interactive maps of biblical locations and a manual on how to choose the right Bible translation. The digitization of this unique and astonishing collection is a huge step forward for the American Bible Society’s mission to make the Bible accessible and in a relevant format for every person.

“Mixing the Bible with technology produces the most amazing results,” said Dr. Paul Irwin, President of the American Bible Society. “Modern technology has proven to be a crucial tool for getting the message of God out to the masses and for translating the Bible into relatable terms.”

The American Bible Society is well on its way to creating the single most important web-based Bible portal. With its extensive resource collection and impressive rare Bible collection, they are positioned to soon have the most comprehensive search tool for all things Bible. Currently, the American Bible Society is home to the Bibles owned and read by Helen Keller, Martin Luther, the first Bible used by the Pony Express, in addition to four leaves of the Guttenberg Bible. The American Bible Society continues to explore new ways of reaching as many people as possible, and the BRC search engine enhanced by Google marks a turning point in its efforts to fulfill its mission.

In the coming months, additional volumes, including some of the rarest and most precious tomes in the world, will be digitized and made available to all who use the Internet. With a collection of Bibles in over 2,400 languages, the American Bible Society aims to become the ultimate Bible resource worldwide.
