A
HIDING PLACE FROM THE WIND
Behold,
a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in
judgment. And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a
covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the
shadow of a great rock in a weary land. And the eyes of them that
see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken.
The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the
tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly. The vile
person shall be no more called noble, nor the churl said to be
bountiful. For the vile person will speak villainy, and his heart
will work iniquity, to practice hypocrisy, and to utter error
against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will
cause the drink of the thirsty to fail. The instruments also of the
churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with
lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.” -- Isaiah 32:1-7
LOSING PRECIOUS TIME
“Lost, yesterday, somewhere between sunrise and sunset, two
golden hours, each set with sixty diamond minutes. No reward is
offered for they are gone forever.” -- Horace Mann
“Lost time was never found again.” -- Ben Franklin
"This time, like all times, is a very good one, if we but know
what to do with it." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson
A
NEW DEFINITION OF POLITICAL CORRECTNESS
In
my study of totalitarian societies, I came to the conclusion that
the purpose of propaganda was not to persuade or convince, nor to
inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to
reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when
they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they
are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all
their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is to co-operate
with evil, and in some small way to become evil oneself. One's
standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A
society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you
examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is
intended to.” -- Anthony Daniels
LIBERALS SHOWING DEEP INSENSITIVITY TO THE PAIN OF SOCIETY
Once again, newspapers in Maine are leveling the charge that The
RECORD was being insensitive by saying Hurricane Katrina was the
wrath of God. Yet a careful rereading of The RECORD will show that
no such claim was ever made. In a piece published on September 6th,
The RECORD mentioned Hurricane Katrina destroyed New Orleans on the
same day the “Southern Decadence” celebration was scheduled, and
then concluded that this was no more than an odd coincidence. But
this was not good enough for those in the liberal mass media who
have certain preconceived biases against the type of people who
belong to the League.
But no matter - in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, a growing
number of people are beginning to ask some extremely hard questions
about the liberal establishment. No one is much concerned about
Conservative Christians, since they are about the only part of
American society which has not been blamed for the hurricane. On
the contrary, Conservative Christians have been praised for their
compassion and hard work in the aftermath of the hurricane. In any
case, does anyone imagine that a city government run by Christians
would leave the dams and levees of a city unprotected, while drunken
revelers rampaged through the streets?
Liberals are increasingly being taken to task for a society which
is starting to sway like a house of cards. Since our modern society
was constructed according to their blueprint, liberals are
ultimately to blame if the structure gives way and collapses. Sexual
permissiveness, divorce, abortion, and the chaos in New Orleans can
be laid at their door-step. America is awakening to the fact that
the false ideology of liberalism has caused an enormous amount of
pain. The pain is deepening and intensifying; and our society, like
the levees in New Orleans is stressed to the breaking
point.
Yet liberals remain absolutely oblivious to the pain they have
caused. At the same time, they criticize the League for being
insensitive, over a remark it never made.
There is one thing which liberals do par excellence, and that is
to explain away the obvious. Yesterday The RECORD described how gay
activists reveled in the streets of New Orleans this past Sunday
while untold thousands of bodies remained beneath the flood waters.
Some gay apologists are now saying that this was not really
decadence, but was only decadent in the sense of a “decadent”
chocolate cake or a “decadent” pleasure. They are also saying that
the “Southern Decadence” celebration, although “outlandish” was only
typical of a few gays in New Orleans. Oh, really? Then what about
the bizarre photos from the San Diego parade? Or the bizarrely-clad
marchers in New York City’s annual Gay Pride Parade? Their costumes
– if they bothered to wear any at all - are too vile to be mentioned
here.
No one outside the cultural sphere of influence of the United
States believes that marching down the street naked is something to
be proud of. Outside of America, people see it for what it is – a
society corrupted by wealth and luxury flaunting its depravity. That
leaves only about ten percent of the world’s population who are
snookered by liberals. But the supporters of gay rights are
desperate to have us believe otherwise. They must at all costs
conceal the truth that this sort of depraved behavior at gay pride
events is not an exception, but the norm. All the public will see on
pro-gay rights websites are smiling faces of “monogamous” couples.
The sight of those who marched in the devastated city of New Orleans
and in other gay pride parades is kept carefully out of sight – and
with good reason. |
