GOD’S LAW IS A HERITAGE FOREVER
“Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light for my path.
I have taken an oath and confirmed it,
that I will follow your righteous laws.
I have suffered much;
preserve my life, O LORD, according to your word.
Accept, O LORD, the willing praise of
my mouth,
and teach me your laws.
Though I constantly take my life in my
hands,
I will not forget your law.
The wicked have set a snare for me,
but I have not strayed from your precepts.
Your statutes are my heritage forever;
they are the joy of my heart.
My heart is set on keeping your decrees
to the very end.”
(Psalm 119:105-112)
QUOTATIONS FOR THE DAY
“All that is necessary for the triumph
of evil is that good men do nothing.”
“The only thing necessary for the
triumph of good is for enough good people to do something
extra."
(Edmund Burke)

MAINE IN AUTUMN
“I have, myself, seen from the shores
of Moosehead Lake a line of ten million, million colors
stretching forty miles away. And I saw it yet again, reflected
in the mirrored surface of the lake on whose blue surface the
clouds of the sky floated! And in the mirror of the lake the
mountains also were painted. And my boat floated in color and
climbed mountain peaks of scarlet and sank into the bosom of a
fiery garden. And the colors steeped to my very soul!
We do not talk enough about this State.
We do not tell the truth about it. We are like men living among
acres of diamonds and not knowing that they are beautiful,
because they are so common. We say as we look at those things
that God has given us and us alone, “There is nothing in Europe
to equal that.” Foolish man; there is nothing anywhere except in
Heaven to begin to compare with Maine, in her autumn radiance.”

PHOTO DISAPPEARS FROM MWD
WEBSITE
The RECORD revealed on Thursday that
one of the photos Maine Won’t Discriminate ran on its website
last week - as one of its many supporters - is the wife of
Stephen Farrand, who works for New England’s most powerful gay
rights advocacy group, GLAD. Farrand was hired in June of this
year to be the Maine Education Coordinator for GLAD, or the Gay
and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders.”
Farrand is also the communications
director of GLSEN of Southern Maine. GLSEN, which stands for Gay
Lesbian Straight Education Network, works to promote the
homosexual rights agenda within the public schools.
A day after our story appeared, the
photo was no longer on the MWD website.
Which poses an interesting question -
if MWD has so much support among the grassroots, why does it
have to run the photo of the wife of someone working for a
Boston-based gay rights advocacy group?
MORE ON THE FORUM DISRUPTED BY
HECKLERS
More is becoming known about the forum
on the sexual orientation law which was repeatedly interrupted
by pro-gay rights hecklers. At the debate between Dr. John
Rankin of the Theological Education Institute, and Dr. John
Corvino, gay rights activists stood up immediately after the
debate began and loudly demanded to know why John Corvino was
discussing the issue of “same-sex marriage.” Gay rights
activists are of course alleging that same-sex marriage should
not be part of the debate over the upcoming vote on Question
One. The heckling in the audience was so intense that at one
point Dr. Rankin said, “I don’t want to incite a riot.”
One female member of the audience
commented that the debate was merely a “contest between two men
to see who could win.”
For once, the anger and intolerance
which is very much a part of the gay rights movement was
directed at one of their own, since John Corvino, who argued for
a “No” vote in the upcoming referendum, is himself, a
homosexual.
