| THE BOLDNESS OF THE FORMER
DAYS “But remember the
former days, in which, after you were enlightened, you endured a
great struggle with sufferings; partly, being exposed to both
reproaches and oppressions; and partly, becoming partakers with
those who were treated so. For you both had compassion on me in
my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your
possessions, knowing that you have for yourselves a better
possession and an enduring one in the heavens. Therefore don't
throw away your boldness, which has a great reward. For you need
endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive
the promise.” (Hebrews 10:32-36)
QUOTATIONS FOR THE DAY
“It is wonderful what strength of
purpose and boldness and energy of will are roused by the
assurance that we are doing our duty.” (Sir Walter Scott)
“Whether you think you can or think you
can't, you're right.” (Henry Ford)
“You are educated when you have the
ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper
or self-confidence.” (Robert Frost)
“In ancient Rome, the Emperor Nero is
reported to have married, at different times, two other men in
wedding ceremonies.” (in Wikipedia, under ‘Same-Sex Marriage’)
HOLLAND LEGALIZES POLYGAMY
Over the weekend, the world received
the very disturbing news that a marriage among three people has
been concluded in Holland. A woman was allowed to become a
second wife for a married couple by means of a “cohabitation
contract.” The husband says he anticipates no difficulty in the
“polyamorous” relationship, since both women are bisexual, not
“hetero.” “Hetero” of course, is a term of abuse invented by the
gay rights lobby to disparage heterosexuals. Another term
invented by the gay rights movement is “heterosexualism” which
means that anyone who insists that only heterosexuality is
normal is as bad as a racist.
Holland was the first nation to
legalize same-sex marriage, despite the outcry among the public
that an effort to end “discrimination” in marriage on the basis
of sexual orientation, would quickly lead to a call to end
“discrimination” in marriage based on religious belief. In other
words, the traditional definition of marriage would quickly
collapse, and be replaced by bizarre new arrangements. That is
exactly what has now happened in Holland.
Holland is currently one of four
countries which allow same-sex marriages, along with Canada,
Spain, and Belgium. by Fritz Spencer
LESBIANS CONTEMPLATE OPENING
CO-OP ON THE COAST
At a recent Cooperative Development
Conference in Bangor sponsored by the USDA, the Maine Department
of Agriculture, and the Cooperative Development Institute,
attendees from farms across the state were shocked to hear a
lesbian couple loudly announce that they were contemplating
opening a lesbian cooperative/ farm/commune in the Midcoast
region. The purpose of the co-op would be to provide independent
living for a number of lesbians in their later years, since
lesbians lack the family support network of heterosexuals. The
lesbian “couple” were quite open about their sexual orientation,
and both wore buttons reading “Old ….s Home” [offensive term
deleted] which is their name for the planned lesbian
co-op/commune. by Fritz Spencer
COALITION FOR MARRIAGE TO
DOCUMENT INTIMIDATION BY GAY RIGHTS ACTIVISTS
More and more Mainers are waking up to
the fact that the battle over gay rights is not being played on
a level playing field. The Coalition for Marriage has decided to
start documenting cases of intimidation so that the public will
see that the other side is not really interested in a good faith
effort to persuade the public about the merits of the recently
passed gay rights law. Instead, the opponents of the traditional
definition of marriage are all too willing to resort to
intimidation and coercion. Just recently the League received a
request from a college student in Lewiston for help in
presenting the pro-family side of the story. The student
declined to leave his name with the League for fear of reprisal.
During the signature-gathering campaign for the Peoples Veto,
the League received numerous calls from people who said they
were reluctant to sign our petition for fear of reprisal at
work.
During the signature-gathering campaign
one petition circulator was physically attacked. After The
RECORD exposed the relationship between the gay rights movement
and the effort to banish the Boy Scouts from the Portland school
system, our website was hacked, and replaced with pornography
and obscenities. Months before this happened, the sign outside
our office in Augusta was smeared with red paint, the word
“666,” and an upside-down cross. This is not to mention the bomb
threat which resulted in the house of one prominent pro-family
activist being evacuated and thoroughly searched by the police.
Strange behavior indeed by people who say they are
family-friendly, and only interested in justice and fairness!

HOLLAND LEGALIZES MERCY KILLING
OF CHILDREN
In a continuing commitment to the
Ideology of Evil, which includes homosexual marriage, abortion
on demand, and now polygamy, the once great nation of Holland is
legalizing the killing of terminally ill children - with the
approval of two doctors and both parents of course!
Currently, two thousand people are
killed each year by Dutch physicians under the name of “mercy
killing.” In a move reminiscent of the elitist push for gay
rights and gay marriage in Maine, the Dutch government is
extending the privilege of mercy killing to children by an
administrative order of the government, without a vote by the
Dutch parliament. To ensure that there are no abuses, euthanasia
committees will be established throughout Holland to determine
which child lives and which child dies.
The only other county which allows
doctors to kill their patients is – you guessed it – Belgium -
the second nation to legalize homosexual marriages after
Holland.
Of course, some Dutch and Belgian
citizens are understandably worried about the effect homosexual
marriage, abortion on demand, and euthanizing children will have
on their rapidly declining population, but others are convinced
that it is all part of the price of having a “progressive”
“tolerant” and “inclusive” government committed to a diversity
of opinions. - by Fritz Spencer
