"Fearful
lest it be relegated to the position of an isolated sect, Christianity
seems to be making frenzied efforts at mimicry in order to escape being
devoured by its enemies--a reaction that seems defensive, but is in fact
self-destructive. In the hope of saving itself, it seems to be assuming
the colors of its environment, but the result is that it loses its
identity. . . ."

Gay rights activists have had
little good news to report these
past few weeks. It is
understandable then, that they
would try to inflate a
relatively minor matter into a
major controversy. But this
time, they wisely backed down
when the facts became known.
The same website which ridicules
Dr. James Dobson and other
conservative Christians, while
making light of the decadence
and perversion of the homosexual
subculture, recently reported a
story in which an allegation was
made that the Christian Civic
League had duped Mrs. Maine,
TraciAnn Moscinski, into signing
the Peoples Veto petition. The
facts are as follows.
On June 28th the website
goodasyou.com ran an item
critical of Mrs. Maine for
signing the Peoples Veto
petition. Within the past few
days, Mrs. Maine wrote the
pro-gay website and claimed that
at the time she signed the
petition she had had no
understanding of what it was
about. In a communication to the
Christian Civic League Mrs.
Moscinski stated she was under
the impression she was signing
autographs. This claim is
clearly false, since her husband
also signed the petition, a
photo of which can be seen at
the top right. The petition
bears the signatures of both
Mrs. Moscinski and her husband.
Further, the recollection of
Paul Madore, which was confirmed
independently by Michael Heath,
was that Mrs. Maine stated “I
support what you guys are
doing,” and winked. The petition
was signed in clear sight of the
Peoples Veto Petition table
which carried a banner reading
“The Coalition for Marriage.”
These facts are indisputable,
but a mystery remains as to why
Mrs. Maine would suddenly state
she never knew she was signing a
petition. What is more peculiar
is why she would now take the
opposite position and state that
she is in favor of gay marriage.
When these facts were made known
to goodasyou.org, they backed
away from the issue, and refused
to side with Mrs. Maine or the
Christian Civic League, and
merely said that they had lost
interest in the matter.
Many of those who participated
in the petition gathering
process are familiar with the
intimidation and coercion used
by the “Maine Will Intimidate”
crowd. The practice of exerting
pressure on the little people
has a long and disreputable
history which dates back to the
days of Anita Bryant, carries
forward to Dr. Laura, and was
very much in evidence during the
days of the petition drive. And
this is not to mention the
defacing of League property and
the vandalizing of our website,
nor the bomb threat at Paul
Madore’s home. Enormous
economic, political, and social
pressure can be brought to bear
on those who refuse to knuckle
under to the homosexual agenda.
Cross the homosexual rights
lobby and there will be serious
repercussions. Just ask David
Parker.
