Mad as a Hornet
The effect of our articles revealing that San Diego is experiencing a major backlash against gay rights activism has been very much like walking up to a hornet’s nest and giving it a sound whack with a big stick. One pastor has been the recipient of phone calls from as far away as Manitoba. Some of the phone calls were abusive, with the irate caller asking why the pastor was spreading such lies about homosexuals, and lecturing him on how to be a good Christian. Some members of the pastor’s church advised him to report the phone calls to the police, but the pastor declined, saying that the calls didn’t include a threat on his life.

It was Paul Madore, leader of the Grassroots Coalition of Maine, who once returned home to find his family waiting outside in the snow, while police searched his house for a bomb. Madore had been the recipient of a bomb threat from the proponents of tolerance and understanding. Later, Madore was physically assaulted while gathering signatures for the Peoples Veto.

As for un-Christian behavior, nothing will ever match the blasphemous remarks and obscene photos of homosexual acts which were posted by hackers on the League website, or the word “666” scrawled in red paint on the sign outside League headquarters. It seems that those in the homosexual rights movement who preach love and tolerance in public act very differently in private, knowing that the public perception of the homosexual subculture is of critical importance to the debate over gay rights and same-sex marriage. But then again, all we did was to publish the photos of THEIR parade, with very little comment added. For some people in the gay rights movement this was apparently too much.

League Banquet Promises to be Best Ever
Be sure to plan to attend the upcoming League banquet in October. This year’s event promises to be the most exciting ever, with a keynote speech to be delivered by Rabbi Daniel Lapin of the organization “Towards Tradition.” Rabbi Lapin is an outspoken defender of traditional values and the family, and a strong critic of the values of secular humanism.

The theme of the event is Micah 6:8 “He hath shown thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”

In view of the need at this critical hour in our nation’s history for Christians to start speaking with a prophetic voice, the League will offer tables named after the prophets of the Old Testament. Tables can be sponsored at the following levels:

Jeremiah: $1000 includes a table with seating and meals for eight to ten people, and a signed copy of Rabbi Lapin's book for each person.

Jonah: $500 includes a table with seating and meals for eight to ten people.

Daniel: $250 includes a half table with seating and meals for four to five people.

In addition, the League will hold its annual awards ceremony, and music will be provided by Paulie Heath.

Seating will be limited, so please make arrangements early.

The banquet will be held at the Senator Inn in Augusta on October 7th, starting at 6:00.


 

 

Conference to Emphasize Compassionate Treatment of Homosexuals
Are you concerned about the growing prevalence of homosexuality in our society?
