| On April 28, 2005 the Coalition for Marriage will hold the second annual Rally for Marriage. Recognizing the fact that a majority of Mainers have affirmed the value of marriage to Maine culture by gathering signatures and voting in recent years the subtitle for this year's event is "Democracy Rules!" The event begins at 10:30 a.m. on the State House steps in Augusta. Our goal is 5000 people. We are forming what we are calling affinity groups for marriage. Pastors and Christians are not the only people who think traditional marriage is an important idea. People from every walk of life believe this. Therefore we will list your trade or interest in front of the words "for Marriage" in a list that will grow on this webpage. We will list an affinity group as part of the Coalition for Marriage when we have at least one person representing that trade or interest group committed to coming to Augusta on April 28th. People interested in being listed must call, email or write our office. We need to know your trade or interest (i.e. lobsterman, trucker, lumberman, homemaker, homeschooler, motorcylist, hunter, fisherman...you get the idea) your name, phone number and whether we can list your name on the website or not. Recognizing that intimidation is one of the favorite tactics of homosexual activists in Maine we will create affinity groups without listing a personal or business name. So spread the word!
